Creating a Unique Headboard

  1. A Fabulous idea for a rustic headboard is putting two shutters together. Find old shutters at a salvage yard. Sand off the paint flecks then add a coat of Polyurethane to protect. Very shabby chic.

  2. Use paint to create your headboard. Paint a panel behind the bed then add your creative touch. Use paint technique, stencil a design, wallpaper, or glue on fabric.

  3. Cover a hollow door with batting and fabric for a plush look. Perfect for a king-size bed. Coordinate your fabric with your sheets and spread. You can add buttons to add depth.

  4. Build a headboard with wood fencing materials. Add finials to the sides for a more finished look. Try finding old iron fencing at salvage yards. This will give you the look of an old iron bed.

  5. Hang a quilt behind the bed. Very simple!

We found a salvage company on the net. Olde Good Things
